Ahmad Qayoumi was named the interim director of the Clark County Public Works Department. He will take over the position on Sept. 12. The current director, Heath Henderson, has taken a new job at the Clark Regional Wastewater District. Qayoumi previously was the manager of the Regional Rail Division for the San Jose, Calif., Department of Transportation and director of Pasco Public Works. He has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Cincinnati and master’s degree in engineering from Portland State University. Clark County’s Public Works Department has 300 employees who work in seven divisions. Learn more at www.clark.wa.gov/public-works.
