Gage Koenders rushed 30 times for 147 yards and two touchdowns and King’s Way Christian (1-1) rebounded from a season-opening loss with a non-league road victory.

Quarterback Kemper Shrock threw three touchdown passes, two to tight end Bryce Dodge.

First-year coach Brian Rodriguez praised his defensive unit, which was shutting out Tenino until the fourth quarter. He added that Dylan Scott at linebacker and Bailey Meek and Gideon Roundsley on the line were key to the defensive effort.

“We made leaps and bounds from last week,” Rodriguez said. “We played really well on all three phases of the game. From special teams to offense to defense.”
