Grand opening for Sonesta extended-stay hotel Sept. 18

Sonesta ES Suites Portland-Vancouver is holding a grand-opening celebration after a year of remodeling its interior, exterior and parking lot.

The extended-stay hotel at 8005 N.E. Parkway Drive used to be a Residence Inn. Sonesta bought the property in September 2017, one of 14 hotels the company acquired across the country, said the hotel’s director of sales, Priscilla Hulin.

The hotel remained open to guests during the remodeling, Hulin added, which finished in July.

Sonesta ES Suites features 120 guest rooms, a meeting space and an outdoor pool, she said. The hotel is pet-friendly and includes the cost of breakfast in its overnight rates.

The grand opening celebration will be held 4-7 p.m. Sept. 18. Representatives from the Vancouver Chamber of Commerce will likely attend for a ribbon-cutting ceremony, Hulin said. The event will also feature a site visit and hotel walk-through open to the public.
