Volunteer Connections provides opportunities through the Human Services Council. For information on the following, call 360-735-3690.

A Caring Closet provides free medical equipment to seniors and others. Volunteers are needed to assist clients, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Closet’s location, 210 W. Fourth St., Vancouver, at Boomerang Therapy.

Friends of the Carpenter seeks help at its hospitality center, with phones and in greeting guests.

The Marshall House at The Historic Trust is looking for docents to lead tours during morning or afternoon shifts, Monday through Saturday. Training is provided. Must be able to stand, walk, climb stairs, and guide visitors on a time-sensitive schedule.

Evergreen Public Schools seeks volunteers to help with a variety of art programs at the elementary school of choice. Training starts soon.

Volunteer Connections seeks help at its Senior Expo, Sept. 15 at ilani. Greeters, raffle hosts, registration desk helpers, and volunteer room hosts are needed. Shifts are 8 a.m. to noon, and noon to 4 p.m. Tear-down helpers are needed from 4 to 6 p.m.

Columbia Springs hold Stewardship Saturday events every other month. Volunteers are need for the next event, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday.

Projects include landscaping the visitor center, removing invasive species, trail maintenance and caring for a restoration area. Snacks, tools, gloves and guidance provided. Bring a water bottle, wear closed-toe shoes, and dress in work-appropriate clothing. Children from age 7 to 15 may volunteer with a parent or guardian.
