Ridgefield honors volunteer of year, staffers

Ridgefield — The Ridgefield School District honored three employees with exemplary service awards and its Volunteer of the Year at its convocation event Aug. 23, which welcomed teachers, administrators and staffers back after summer break. Debbie McGravey was recognized as Volunteer of the Year for her work as president of the Ridgefield Booster Club and producer of theatrical performances for the district’s middle school and two elementary schools. She also previously served as president of the South Ridge Elementary School PTA. The Partner Exemplary Service Award was presented to South Ridge Elementary School’s Mary Rojas, custodian with American Building Maintenance. Denise Krause, head secretary at View Ridge Middle School, was honored with the Classified Exemplary Service Award. Gregg Ford, history teacher and track coach at Ridgefield High School, was presented with the Certificated Exemplary Service Award.
