Fruit Valley — The Columbia River Triathlon & Endurance Sports Festival brought more than 1,000 competitors to Frenchman’s Bar from Aug. 17-19. The weekend kicked off with a kids triathlon and Sunset 5K/10K race on the first day. The festival also featured triathlons, duathlons and other events. There were 1,276 athletes from throughout the country and from Canada. The weekend raised $5,901.67 for Pink Phoenix, a dragon boat team made up of breast cancer survivors, $2,589.90 for Ainsley’s Angels, an organization that aims to build awareness about America’s special needs community through inclusion, and $1,520.28 for Kleen Street, a Vancouver-based recovery community.
