Men’s Soccer

THE WEEK THAT WAS

Clark (0-1-0) fell in its home opener 3-2 to unbeaten Tacoma on Tuesday. After allowing two first-half goals, the Penguins pulled even on goals by Christian Hernandez and Manuel Cabrera in the 64rd and 68th minutes. Tacoma scored the match-winner in the 81st minute.

THE WEEK TO COME

Clark opens Northwest Athletic Conference play Saturday in Salem. Ore., against Chemeketa.

Women’s Soccer

The Penguins did not play.

THE WEEK TO COME

Clark opens its regular season and Northwest Athletic Conference play Saturday at Chemeketa in Salem, Ore. The Penguins’ home opener is Wednesday against Lane.

Volleyball

THE WEEK THAT WAS

Clark (3-6) beat Bellevue in five sets (20-25, 25-22, 24-26, 25-20, 15-12) Tuesday at O’Connell Sports Center. Laurel Davidson had 12 kills, six blocks, 14 digs and three aces. Mary Schorn had 26 digs.

The Penguins lost at home to Walla Walla 3-1 the previous Thursday (23-25, 25-17, 25-16, 25-13). Kayla McLaughlin had nine kills while Jordan Johnson and Davidson each had eight.

THE WEEK TO COME

Clark heads to the Spokane Tournament for four matches. The Penguins face Olympic and Columbia Basin on Friday, the Spokane and a team to be determined Saturday.

Clark will then travel to Bremerton to face Olympic and Lower Columbia on Tuesday.

Cross Country

The Clark men’s and women’s teams open their seasons Friday at the Ash Creek Invite in Monmouth, Ore.
