Battle Ground — A group of 15 Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps cadets from Battle Ground High School took a trip Aug. 18 to Joint Base Lewis-McChord, where they received a firsthand look at the mission of the Air Force’s 313th Airlift Squadron. The cadets were transported out to the C-17 aircraft and had a full orientation on the capabilities and duties of the mission crew, and toured the aircraft from nose to tail before lifting off on a two-hour training mission. The flight included a circular route around Mount Rainier, over Mount Baker, south to Battle Ground and a transit up the Olympic Peninsula back to McChord Field.
