Seats available on solid waste advisory commission

The Clark County Council is looking for volunteers to serve on the Solid Waste Advisory Commission, a group that advises the council on recycling, garbage collection and waste reduction.

Applicants should represent the local business community and plan to serve a three-year term. Members of the commission represent a range of local interests, including the solid waste industry, agriculture, the city and the county.

The commission meets four times a year — 6 p.m. on the first Thursday of February, May, August and November, at the Center for Community Health at 1601 E. Fourth Plain Blvd., Vancouver.

Applicants can send a r?sum? and letter of interest to Alyssa Weyhrauch, County Manager’s Office, at PO Box 5000, Vancouver 98666-5000.

Applications also can be sent by email to Alyssa.Weyhrauch@clark.wa.gov or by fax to 360-397-6058.

The letter of interest should include how the applicant represents the business community, their personal or professional experience related to solid waste and their vision for the future of solid waste management in Clark County.

The application deadline is 5 p.m. Sept. 21.
