8 p.m. update: The Camas School District and Camas Education Association announced Sunday evening they had reached a tentative agreement, possibly averting a strike set to start Tuesday. The union will vote to formally approve the agreement Monday at a general membership meeting. Assuming the membership approves of the deal, school will start as scheduled Tuesday, according to the school district.
Negotiations are resuming or set to resume today between teachers and administrators in six Clark County school districts.
Their assignment: End or avert a strike by the end of Labor Day weekend.
No progress was reported this morning following bargaining sessions on Saturday in a number of districts, though negotiators in Camas, Ridgefield and Washougal reported talks going late into the night Saturday. Washougal negotiators are taking Sunday off but will return to the table Monday.
