Portland — Students from five local high schools ventured over to Portland to compete in the second Frank Adams Annual Floral Chopped Competition, hosted Oct. 5 at the Portland Flower Market. Evergreen High School’s Autumn Kimble, Shelbeigh Weaver and Brianna Schrantz scored a first-place finish in the competition, where teams battled it out over three rounds. The students had to arrange Christmas centerpieces, craft flower crowns and create sashes using the surprise materials found in a basket. Students from Mountain View High School, Woodland High School, Heritage High School and Hudson’s Bay High School also competed.
