Nominees for Week 9 prep football player of the week

Here are the nominees for The Columbian prep football player of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Oct. 20.

Voting will continue until 8 p.m. Tuesday, with results announced in Wednesday’s edition of The Columbian.

To avoid vote manipulation, voting is restricted by IP address. That means people voting while connected to a public WIFI access may be unable vote. We suggest voting be done by private internet access or through your cellular provider.

TYLER FLANAGAN, WOODLAND: Flanagan rushed for 380 yards and five touchdowns, breaking the school single-season rushing record in a 47-27 win over Mark Morris.

A.J. DIXSON, PRAIRIE: Dixson rushed for 131 yards and two touchdowns in quarterbacking the Falcons to a 34-7 win over Evergreen and their first playoff berth since 2011.

AIDAN HOYT, UNION: Hoyt had two interceptions, including a game-clinching pick in the fourth quarter of the Titans 14-7 win over rival Camas.

WYATT DODSON, LA CENTER: Dodson rushed for 223 yards and three touchdowns as the Wildcats beat Castle Rock 38-12 to clinch a postseason berth.

BODEN STROUSE, BATTLE GROUND: Strouse caught eight passes for 96 yards and three touchdowns as the Tigers ended the season with a 45-7 win over South Kitsap.
