Knowing which materials out of the myriad of products available today can be recycled is challenging even for the most avid recyclers.

But the city is trying to make the process a little easier by offering free informative classes to help residents get it right.

RecycleU, provided by Vancouver Solid Waste and Waste Connections, offers the latest dos, don’ts and whys about our regional garbage and recycling system. Attend one or all of the classes.

The first, and most basic class, is scheduled for 4-5:30 p.m. Nov. 2, at Vancouver City Hall.

The more advanced class is Recycling 201. Participants will discover other local recycling and reuse options available locally.

Prior attendance in Recycling 101 is required.

The Recycling Walking Tour offers an up-close look at a regional transfer station and recycling processing.

Attendees may make their neighborhood associations eligible for a $120 grant.

Class descriptions, schedules and sign-ups are available online at www.cityofvancouver.us/RecycleU.
