The Master Composter Recycler program is accepting applications for a free, 10-week training program that begins in January.

Program graduates educate community members about reducing waste and proper recycling. Program volunteers host backyard composting workshops, share their knowledge at community events and run composting demonstrations.

Interested people should register for classes, which will be held 6-8:30 p.m. every Wednesday, Jan. 23 through March 27.

The classes cover topics such as composting, food waste, mulching, soil composition, vermicomposting, recycling, green cleaning and more.

Those who finish will be certified as Master Composter Recyclers and asked to contribute 30 volunteer hours within a year in exchange for the training.

More information about the program, the training program syllabus and registration are available at www.clarkcountycomposts.org.
