Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer Connections provides opportunities through the Human Services Council. For information on the following, call 360-735-3690.

Clark County Food Bank seeks volunteers to help with clerical tasks, special events, repacking food, nutrition education, maintenance and cleaning. A variety of shifts are available. Groups are welcome.

Hope Dementia Support Groups seeks group facilitators to help people supporting family members suffering with dementia. Experience caring for a person who had dementia is preferred. Training is provided. A variety of shifts and locations are available

Lifeline Connections provides chemical dependency and mental health treatment and seeks volunteers to help with clerical and administrative duties, as a greeter in the Recovery Resource Center, selling books and merchandise, answering phones, and cleaning.

Statewide Health Insurance Benefits Advisors help people navigate their health insurance options. The Vancouver SHIBA office trains volunteers to be benefit advisors working directly with clients to help them find the best options for their needs and budgets. Advisors are needed from noon to 4 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Training for certification is provided with a six-month commitment expected.

Clark Public Utilities’ Stream Team is looking for people to plant trees in the Battle Ground area, and to honor the volunteer of the year on Make a Difference Day, which is Saturday. Training and tools will be available. Lunch will be provided at noon, and the volunteer of the year will be recognized and presented an award. Register at www.streamteam.net. Watershed Alliance seeks help planting native trees and shrubs, 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, in recognition of Make a Difference Day. Gloves, tools and snacks will be provided, and all ages are welcome. Register at thewatershedalliance.org/volunteer

Battle Ground Adventist Community Services, a food and clothing pantry, is looking for volunteers to stock shelves, receive and sort food items, sort and hang clothing, assist with client intake, help expand the baby diaper distribution program and sew quilts. The pantry is open from 1 to 5:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursdays. A variety of shifts are available. To learn more, call Maury Parrish at 360-687-3459.
