Fatty Patty’s restaurants appear to have closed

Fatty Patty’s, a longtime restaurant in Hazel Dell, appears to have closed permanently.

A phone recording Wednesday said the Fatty Patty’s number had been disconnected and was no longer in service. Its Google search page described the restaurant, at 10501 N.E. Highway 99, as “permanently closed.” Fatty Patty’s Too, 813 W. Main St., Battle Ground, also was described as permanently closed and had a phone disconnection recording.

In its heyday, Fatty Patty’s in Hazel Dell was known for its large portions of classic American diner fare. In 1998, Columbian readers named it the second-best place in the county for breakfast, landing behind Elmer’s Pancake & Steak House and ahead of Dulin’s Village Cafe.
