Battle Ground City Manager Jeff Swanson resigned at a special council meeting Monday night.
Swanson’s resignation was effective as of Monday, and Erin Erdman, the city’s community development director, is now acting city manager. Erdman will remain community development director as well.
Swanson couldn’t be reached Tuesday. Mayor Mike Dalesandro said Swanson talked to the city council about resigning during an executive session at the city council’s Oct. 1 meeting and then again at Monday’s meeting.
“He wanted to move on and look at other opportunities,” Dalesandro said. “He’s a great guy, a quality individual. He helped us with a lot of things in the city. A lot of what we’re working on right now in the city are from his leadership.”
Swanson was sworn in as Battle Ground’s city manager on April 1, 2016. Prior to that, he served as director of economic development for Clark County.
