Nominees for Week 7 fall sports prep athlete of the week

Voting, sponsored by Athletes Corner, continues through Thursday

Here are the nominees for The Columbian fall sports prep athlete of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Oct. 20.

Voting will continue until 8 p.m. Thursday, with results announced in Friday’s edition of The Columbian.

To avoid vote manipulation, voting is restricted by IP address. That means people voting while connected to a public WIFI access may be unable vote. We suggest voting be done by private internet access or through your cellular provider.

ANNIKA FARLEY, RIDGEFIELD GIRLS SOCCER: Farley had three goals and three assists in two league games for the Spudders.

JONATHAN HUTLEY, SKYVIEW BOYS TENNIS: Hutley won the 4A singles district title with a 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 win over Union’s Naman Thawani.

HALLE JENKINS, CAMAS GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY: Jenkins posted a 29-second victory in winning the 4A district meet in 18:55.

KATIE PENEUETA, HERITAGE VOLLEYBALL: Peneueta had 37 kills, 12 blocks and 32 digs in two league matches, including 28 kills in a win over Battle Ground.

SHUN YAMAGUCHI, MOUNTAIN VIEW BOYS CROSS COUNTRY: Yamaguchi beat out Kelso’s Colter Jorgeson to win the 3A district meet in 15:29.
