Enjoying what feels like never-ending, beautiful warm and sunny fall weather is grand. Watching the changing leaves, the garden harvest, smiles on happy faces. Such great weather to be outside.
You may have heard of “The Hunger Games.” “Let the games begin, and may the odds be ever in your favor.” We are well into autumn, and nature has prepared the setting for us. It always does, every year without fail, like it or not. And who will you be this year, a participant or a spectator? Admission is free, and there is plenty of viewing room. Only a stipend for participation, but the honor of achievement and accomplishment is the utmost award. Can’t you feel the calling? The anticipation of yet another season? The new challenges calling you? You can sit and watch the games, or better yet, get out and participate. Let the games begin, and may the leaves be ever in your neighbor’s yard.
OK, that may be in jest, but here is a bit of weather prose that will be appropriate soon.
The winter rains fall from clouds not so high, swept by the swirling winds that blow so strong. Dark clouds racing so fast across the sky, I hope the sun will shine before too long. As I wade through the puddles soaking wet, a car comes by and splashes me some more. Lightning flashes and you can bet, that I will make a mad dash to my door. Inside my house the lights blink off and on, the room is dark; I cannot see a thing. I hear a crash out on my front lawn. I wonder what else this fun day will bring? The angry winter storms may blow on through, but as always, we will see some skies of blue.
