How Clark County college football players fared, Oct. 20

A pair of Clark County athletes are seeing their football careers take off at the Air Force Academy.

Brody Bagnall, a senior from Evergreen, and Christopher Mitchell, a junior from Mountain View, both played key roles in the Falcons’ 41-35 win over UNLV on Saturday.

Bagnall made 10 tackles and had one sack. A starting inside linebacker, he ranks second on the team with 54 tackles through seven games.

Mitchell made his first career start Saturday. The center played a key role for an offensive line that paved the way for 572 yards of offense, including 355 rushing yards.

As with every cadet, the Air Force Academy demands a lot beyond both the classroom and the football field. Bagnall has completed Basic Cadet Training, Survival Training and Operations Air Force. Majoring in Materials Chemistry, he hopes to attend graduate school and eventually work in the auto industry.

Mitchell has played in every game this season after seeing action twice as a sophomore. A member of Cadet Squadron 24, he is majoring in management and would like to run his own business someday.
