A Clark County Superior Court judge on Thursday sentenced a woman who drunkenly crashed into and injured another driver in June to 90 days in jail.

Colette Grieser, 52, who lived in Oregon at the time of the crash, pleaded guilty in August to vehicular assault.

Vancouver police arrested Grieser on June 5 after she ran a red light at the intersection of East Mill Plain Boulevard and northbound Interstate 5, and hit another woman’s vehicle on its side, according to court records.

The other vehicle, an eastbound silver Honda, was turning onto the northbound lanes of the freeway at the time, court records say.

Police asked Grieser if she had consumed any alcohol or drugs, to which she said she drank six beers the night prior. However, the officer noted signs of intoxication, according to court records.

Grieser failed a field sobriety test, and after agreeing to a breath test, registered a blood-alcohol level of 0.276, according to court records. In Washington, a level of 0.08 or greater is considered evidence of impaired driving.

The driver of the other vehicle involved in the collision suffered a broken leg, among other injuries, the prosecution said Thursday.
