Union High School security officer honored with state award

East Vancouver — Jamal McKenzie, Union High School’s campus security officer, was named Security Officer of the Year by the Washington School Safety Organization for his ability to develop effective communications with and ensure the safety of the students and staff at the school. McKenzie was selected among 3,000 nominees statewide. The Washington School Safety Organizations goal is to unite security professionals, educators and law enforcement to develop community partnerships through a network of experts and advanced training.
