Clark County sheriff’s deputies are searching for a man who allegedly jumped into two teenage sisters’ vehicle Tuesday night and tried to take the keys.

The suspect, pictured in a Facebook post by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office, confronted the sisters, 13 and 18 years old, around 10:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the Hazel Dell Safeway, 408 N.E. 81st St.

The man entered the  vehicle through the passenger’s side. The younger sister ran to get help while the older sister tried to back the vehicle out of its parking spot with the assailant still inside the car, deputies said.

The suspect “attempted ripping the keys out of the ignition several times,” deputies said.

When he was unable to remove the keys, he apparently exited the vehicle and fled the area, deputies said.

The sheriff’s office said the man is wanted on suspicion of second-degree robbery, second-degree vehicle prowling and vehicle theft.

Anyone who can identify the suspect should contact Deputy Dylan Roberts at Dylan.Roberts@clark.wa.gov.
