Police chased two people suspected in an assault and robbery at a Portland convenience store into Clark County’s Five Corners area Tuesday afternoon, arresting both.
According to the Portland Police Bureau, officers were called to a Northeast Portland 7-Eleven around 11:40 a.m. for a report of an assault and brandishing of a firearm.
The officers spoke to a witness and victim, who said a male suspect entered the store, obtained several items, brandished a gun and assaulted a young customer.
The suspect then left in a black Toyota Tacoma truck, the two told police. Another witness reported seeing the pickup, and that the driver threw something at the witness’s car. Other officers spotted the suspect vehicle elsewhere in Portland, and attempted to stop it. The driver wouldn’t stop, according to the police, and the department’s aircraft tracked the truck as it headed into Clark County.
