Week 7 prep football of the week nominees

Voting, sponsored by Athletes Corner, continues through Tuesday

Here are the nominees for The Columbian prep football player of the week, sponsored by Athletes Corner, for the week ending Oct. 12.

Voting will continue until 8 p.m. Tuesday, with results announced in Wednesday’s edition of The Columbian.

To avoid vote manipulation, voting is restricted by IP address. That means people voting while connected to a public WIFI access may be unable vote. We suggest voting be done by private internet access or through your cellular provider.

WYATT DODSON, LA CENTER: Dodson rushed for 131 yards on 17 carries and three touchdowns in La Center’s 48-14 win over Seton Catholic.

TRENTON HOWARD, COLUMBIA-WHITE SALMON: Howard surpassed 1,000 yards rushing on the season (192 yards, 18 carries, 2 TDs) in 34-14 win over King’s Way Christian.

NOLAN MICKENHAM, PRAIRIE: Mickenham caught eight passes for 150 yards and two TDs, including game-winner in Prairie’s 23-21 win over Hudson’s Bay.

DALTON PAYNE, WASHOUGAL: Payne completed 18 of 29 passing for 121 yards and rushed for 120 yards on 12 carries accounting for four TDs in a 25-22 win over Mark Morris.
ANTHONY WILHITE, FORT VANCOUVER: Wilhite had a career-high 233 yards on seven catches and three TDs in a 49-18 loss to Kelso.
