A nosy raccoon in southwest Florida got into a tight squeeze when he stuck his snout inside a ravioli can and couldn’t get it out.
A Port Charlotte woman spotted the hapless mammal in her backyard and made sure it got some help.
A Charlotte County animal control officer took the raccoon to the Peace River Wildlife Center in Punta Gorda where experts went to work to free the juvenile critter.
“The animal needed to be sedated while the can was carefully clipped away until it could be pulled off,” animal control officials wrote in a Facebook posting.
The raccoon had only minor injuries and is expected to be just fine.
