Clark County residents can safely dispose of unused medications from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 27 at four different collection sites in the county.

The drug take-back program aims to reduce the estimated 54 million people older than 12 who have used prescription drugs for nonmedical reasons in their lifetime, according to a Prevent Coalition press release. All unwanted medications — controlled and noncontrolled — will be accepted.

The collection locations are:

• PeaceHealth Southwest Urgent Care, 33rd and Main streets, (south back lot), Vancouver.

• Kaiser Permanente Cascade Park, 12607 S.E. Mill Plain Blvd., Vancouver.

• Battle Ground Police Department, 507 S.W. First St., Battle Ground.

• Washougal Silver Star Search & Rescue, 1220 A St., Washougal.

The Kaiser Cascade Park and PeaceHealth locations will also accept sharps and syringes for disposal. For more information, call Clark County Public Health at 360-397-2121 ext. 4352, or contact the Prevent Coalition at preventcoalition@esd112.org.
