A ceremony to honor U.S. Army Staff Sgt. Ronald Paulsen, who was killed in 2006 while serving in Iraq, will be held Oct. 17 at the Fort Vancouver War Memorial.

The ceremony is part of a series being hosted by the Community Military Appreciation Committee and the Patriot Guard Riders recognizing military members from Clark County killed in the line of duty. Each ceremony is held on the anniversary of the fallen military member’s death and will take place every three years.

Participants will arrive at the memorial site at 9:30 a.m., and the ceremony honoring Paulsen begins at 10 a.m.
