The Kelso Hilanders took care of business in a first half that led them to a 49-18 victory over the Fort Vancouver Trappers.
Junior running back Justyc Ziegler lead the Hilanders towards victory by rushing for 132 yards on 16 carries, and two touchdowns. Marshall Coleman and Masyn Alison added two more rushing touchdowns. Meanwhile, Riley Noah and Jorge Montes capped off the rest of Kelso’s scoring.
Anthony Wilhite of Fort Vancouver celebrated his senior night with an outstanding performance in which he generated six receptions for 232 yards, and three touchdowns. All three of Wilhite’s touchdowns came from quarterback Austin Real-James, who threw for 288 yards.
Friday night’s win means that Kelso and Mountain View remain tied for first place in the 3A GSHL standings. Thus meaning that all eyes will be focused on next week — as the two teams tied for first will most likely decide who will prevail as this year’s 3A league champion.
