This month Lifeline Connections is starting free family education classes about substance abuse. The class is held 6 to 7 p.m. the fourth Wednesday of each month at The Recovery Resource Center, 9317 N.E. Highway 99, Suite M, Vancouver.

“This free family education class is appropriate for both the person with the disease and family members whose loved one may or may not be on the road to recovery and better health,” Lifeline Connections said in a news release.

Topics to be addressed include dealing with stressors, healthy communication, relapse prevention, effective problem solving and setting healthy boundaries.

Certified clinicians lead the class, meant to provide support to people impacted by addiction. With a focus on family, they will look at how family dynamics impact recovery.

The class is funded by Washington State University Extension. For more information, contact info@lifelineconnections.org.
