Lifeline Connections is offering free Mental Health First Aid training that will teach people how to help someone experiencing a mental health crisis or develo-ping a mental health issue.
During the eight-hour course students will learn how to identify and respond to signs of addiction and mental illness.
“Just as CPR training helps a person with no medical background assist an individual following a heart attack, MHFA training helps a person assist individuals experiencing a mental health crisis,” Lifeline Connections said in a news release. “This course is a great opportunity to increase personal skills and knowledge on the topic, and prepare for unexpected mental health emergencies.”
Through sponsorship and support, the class is offered free to the community.
Classes will be held around Clark County. To learn more or schedule a session, contact Lifeline Connections Mental Health First Aid AmeriCorps member Clifford Ellis at cellis@lifelineconnections.org.
