Akilotoa Kaumatule rushed for 95 yards and two scores in the first half as Hudson’s Bay claimed its fifth straight “Peace Pipe” rivalry win 47-14 over Fort Vancouver at Kiggins Bowl on Friday.
Carter Morse threw for 151 of his 208 yards and two touchdowns in the second half for Hudson’s Bay.
Kaumatule scored from 46 and six yards out in the first half for the Eagles in the 3A Greater St. Helens League contest. Morse, normally a wide receiver, moved to quarterback in place of the injured Parker Marsh and threw touchdown passes of 86 and 65 yards for Hudson’s Bay (1-1, 2-4). The
Eagles face Prairie next Friday at District Stadium in Battle Ground.
Fort Vancouver was led by Tyler Runkle who rushed for 96 yards and a touchdown, and tallied 30 yards receiving for the Trappers (0-2, 0-6). They return to Kiggins Bowl next Friday to face unbeaten Kelso.
