Clark County Fire & Rescue will host a training exercise at the Lakeside Motel property, as the Woodland Community Swimming Pool Committee continues to inch toward bringing a YMCA to the site.
The “burn and learn” will start at 10 a.m. Oct. 27 at the motel property, 785 Lakeshore Drive. Cowlitz County Fire District No. 1 will be on hand, as well.
Demolition of the motel on the 2.8-acre site started in May. The fundraising campaign for the Woodland YMCA project is ongoing with the goal of raising enough funds to break ground in 2019 and start construction in 2020.
