Van Mall — The Housing Stability Fund was honored by the Nonprofit Network of Southwest Washington at the Nonprofit Excellence Awards on Sept. 13. The fund was an honorable mention in the Leadership in Collaboration category. The Housing Stability Fund is a joint effort between the Foundation for Vancouver Public Schools, Evergreen School District Foundation, Council for the Homeless and Cascade Presbyterian Church. The fund works with both districts’ family resource centers to identify eligible students and families to receive timely and targeted one-time emergency housing assistance. Families work with the housing fund to access a one-time financial bridge, which helps keep them from being evicted and potentially experiencing homelessness.
