The Vancouver-based M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust gave out 58 grants totalling $14.7 million this summer to projects in Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon and Washington. Two Vancouver nonprofits received money from the trust.
• Columbia Springs, an environmental education center and natural area, received $152,000 to establish a development program and hire a development director.
• Helping Men Heal, a nonprofit focused on helping men heal from trauma and loss, got $196,500 to hire new staff.
In total, Washington nonprofits were awarded $7,055,000 in grants this summer.
