PENDLETON, ORE. — The Pendleton City Council has approved a land lease with Vancouver-based Makad Corp. to build a 74-unit hotel at the Pendleton airport, according to the East Oregonian.

The 50-year airport hotel lease agreement between the city and a Makad subsidiary called Horse Valley LLC had gone before the council for approval three times heading into its consideration at last week’s meeting, the newspaper reported.

Makad must provide a bond assuring completion of the construction and payment of material and labor costs, according to its agreement with the city.

Makad is a privately held company based in downtown Vancouver. The company, according to its website, “is an international project development firm that leverages broad experience and a network of global contacts to build teams that develop exceptional international class projects efficiently, while remaining competitive by keeping pace with advancing technology.”
