Northbound Interstate 205 near Exit 36 and 134th Street was closed for police activity for about half an hour Monday afternoon, according to the Washington State Department of Transportation.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called about a man sitting on the 134th Street overpass railing above the interstate. They found an agitated man threatening to jump.

Crisis negotiators talked him down, the sheriff’s office said, and he was taken to a hospital.

The closure started around 2:30 p.m. and ended shortly after 3 p.m., according to WSDOT. Shortly after 3 p.m., traffic was backed up almost to Padden Parkway.
