Brad Lackey scored 14 of his 16 points in the fourth quarter as Union held off West Seattle for a season-opening win.
West Seattle pulled within four points with 2:30 to play, but Union secured the win at the free throw line.
Lackey and Houston Combs were 9 for 9 from the foul line in the fourth quarter. Union was 18 for 20 for the game.
“Other than our foul shooting, it was a pretty typical first game,” Union coach Blake Conley said.
Ethan Smith led all scorers with 17 points for Union, which jumped to a 17-8 lead in the first quarter.
