Camas fire crews quickly extinguished a residential blaze Saturday night in Camas.

Firefighters were dispatched at about 4:48 p.m. to the 500 block of Northeast 21st Avenue.

The initial engine to arrive spotted a single-story duplex on fire, according to emergency radio traffic monitored at The Columbian.

A resident told firefighters a dog was still inside and wouldn’t come out from under a bed.

The home was doused from the outside before firefighters entered through its front door. They confirmed the fire was extinguished, about ten minutes after being dispatched to the address. They continued to look for the dog, according to the scanner.

The Camas-Washougal Fire Marshal was requested to investigate.
