SEATTLE – Vancouver-based Great Western Malting will be recognized at the Association of Washington Businesses’ upcoming Evening of Excellence awards.
Six Washington-based companies will be named the award winners at the Nov. 28 red-carpet event at Seattle’s Benaroya Hall. The awards come from six categories including Leading Environmental Practices and Employer of the Year.
Additionally, the event will honor the four winners of the association’s Manufacturing Excellence awards, which were announced last month during the association’s Manufacturing Week bus tour of the state. Great Western Malting was named as the winner of the Green Manufacturer of the Year award when the bus stopped for a tour of the company’s malting facility at the Port of Vancouver.
The Vancouver company was commended for its conservation efforts, which collectively achieved a 98 percent reduction in its water usage during the past year.
