More than 11,000 lights going on Vancouver tree for ceremony

Sam McCostlin with St. Mary’s Services of Vancouver places Christmas lights atop Vancouver’s Community Christmas tree in Esther Short Park on Tuesday morning in preparation for Friday’s Vancouver Rotary Tree Lighting.

The event starts with music and vendors at 4 p.m. and the tree lighting by Santa at 6 p.m. A community concert follows at 6:15 p.m. at the Hilton Vancouver Washington, 301 W. Sixth St. Admission is free.
