Fear not, Thanksgiving lovers with kitchen renovation issues, family members who aren’t speaking to one another after the midterm elections, or anything else that makes it impossible for you to have Thanksgiving dinner at home with your family. There are several restaurants in Vancouver that are serving Thanksgiving dinner this year.

Sit-down dinner

Traditional/limited options: Eatery at the Grant House is offering a five-course plated dinner in its historic dining room for $55 per adult and $20 for children 10 and younger. The courses are: smoked salmon mousse en croute; arugula salad with apple, sweet potato, candied walnut, goat cheese and champagne vinaigrette; roasted and confit turkey with duchess potatoes, foraged mushroom bread pudding, braised greens and gravy; pumpkin cheesecake, pecan pie and cranberry chocolate Swiss roll; vanilla macaron with pumpkin ganache. There are also house-made yeast rolls, salted butter and cranberry jam for the table. Wine pairings are available for an additional cost.

Less traditional/more entree options: Grays Restaurant & Bar (at the Hilton Vancouver Washington) will be serving a Thanksgiving menu from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. The price of your meal will depend on what you choose to order. The starters are a butternut squash bisque ($5) and a Northwest harvest salad ($7) of mixed greens, grilled pears, spiced hazelnuts and house-smoked gorgonzola dressed in white balsamic vinaigrette. The entrees are turkey breast with whipped potatoes, green beans and cranberry relish ($32); hickory smoked ham with stuffing, whipped potatoes and green beans ($29); cauliflower lasagna with a butternut cream sauce with sauteed green beans and mushrooms ($24); and a grilled salmon fillet with creamy citrus grits, candied bacon and orange compote, and sauteed green beans ($33). Dessert choices are pecan pie with vanilla whipped cream or pumpkin pie with vanilla whipped cream (included with entr?e). There’s also a dinner for children who are 12 or younger ($12). They have a choice of roasted turkey dinner, ham dinner, or mac and cheese.

Grays also has a turkey-to-go kit that serves six to eight people for $99. It includes a 14-pound turkey, buttermilk whipped potatoes, turkey gravy, glazed yams and vanilla puffs, seasoned home-style dressing, cranberry and orange salad, and a choice of pumpkin or pecan pie.

Lots of options/foodie Thanksgiving: Roots Restaurant and Bar is serving a sophisticated, sit down, ? la carte Thanksgiving menu. There are nine starters, such as Puget Sound mussels and Manila clams with leeks, fennel, squash in a coconut curry sauce with fresh herbs and sesame oil ($13.95); apple cider cured salmon with house-made pancetta, caramelized red onion and escarole with a pomegranate coulis ($12.50); and crispy duck confit with savory bread pudding, poached pears and huckleberry gastrique ($10.50). There is a puree of white bean and roasted garlic soup with smoked paprika oil and grilled prawn ($8.50). There are five salads, such as wilted spinach with a hard-cooked egg, bacon and warm cider vinaigrette ($10.95); and a roast beet and apple salad with feta, walnuts and sherry vinaigrette ($11.95).

Entrees are turkey with chanterelle mushroom stuffing, cranberry relish, whipped potatoes, green beans and gravy ($31); honey-glazed ham with Tillamook white cheddar scalloped potatoes, Brussels sprouts and apple butter ($31); steak with seasonal vegetable, compound butter and demi-glace ($35.95 to $44.59, depending on the cut of meat); vegetable risotto ($21.95); braised short ribs with mashed potatoes, delicata squash and Yorkshire pudding ($29.95); and grilled salmon with potato gratin, rainbow chard and local chanterelle mushroom conserva ($30.95).

Lots of options/Germany meets the Pacific Northwest: Gustav’s Pub & Grill has the largest menu for a sit-down Thanksgiving dinner. Choose from an interesting mix of German food, traditional American and Pacific Northwest favorites. You can order individual items from a long menu including appetizers (several different fondues), soups (lentil soup, butternut squash soup), and salads (fresh greens, caesar), entr?es (wiener schnitzel, turkey breast, roast pork loin and sausage, Pacific Northwest salmon), and desserts (apple strudel or pumpkin pie).

There are two feasts (Thanksgiving feast or prime rib) available if you just want to order once and get a full meal. The Thanksgiving feast ($25.25) includes roast turkey breast, apple-hazelnut dressing, roast pork, bier sausage, sauerkraut, mashed potatoes, gravy, seasonal vegetables, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie. The slow-roasted prime rib feast ($23.45 to $32.95, depending on cut) has prime rib (aged 30 days, slow-roasted and covered in Horst Mager’s special garlic rub), mashed potatoes, au jus and seasonal vegetables.

They also offer a kids’ menu with choice of Thanksgiving dinner with turkey, mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables, stuffing and gravy ($7.95) or chicken strips with mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables ($5.95.)

Buffet dinner

Hudson’s Bar & Grill (at the Heathman Lodge) is serving a Thanksgiving Grand Buffet from noon to 8 p.m. It’s $38 for adults and $16 for children. On the buffet, there will be sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, bread stuffing with gravy, oven roasted seasonal vegetables, cold smoked and roasted salmon with maple glaze, butternut squash ravioli, roasted turkey, pork loin with apple pear chutney — as well as a carving station with smoked ham and prime rib. They will also have a selection of house-made breads, seasonal fruits and berries, salads (baby lettuce with candied walnut and blue cheese, pasta salad, hearts of romaine salad) and cheese and crackers. For dessert, there is pumpkin pie, assorted mini desserts, apple cranberry crisp and Hudson’s bread pudding.

Reservations are recommended at all of these places. If a member of your party has dietary restrictions, you should let someone at the restaurant know this when making your reservation. It’s hard to be thankful if everyone at your table isn’t able to enjoy a satisfying meal.
