Letter: Speak up, protect children

By Willie Dickerson, Snohomish

Letter-writer Mary Lynn Henderson is right (“Protect children from hunger,” Oct. 23, Our Reader’s Views). One call or email telling those who represent us in Congress to vote for the Senate version of the Farm Bill to protect SNAP, frontline defense against hunger, would only take about five minutes. Not too hard to protect one in five children from being hungry.

We encourage readers to express their views about public issues. Letters to the editor are subject to editing for brevity and clarity. Limit letters to 200 words (100 words if endorsing or opposing a political candidate or ballot measure) and allow 30 days between submissions. Send Us a Letter
