Vancouver – With the end of Daylight Saving Time comes the beginning of winter operating hours for gazebos and picnic shelters at several Vancouver parks. Starting Monday, gazebos and picnic shelters at some Vancouver parks will close to the public each night at 6 p.m. and reopen at 6 a.m. The winter operating hours will remain in place through March 11.

Advisory signs will be posted at the following locations where winter hours are in place: Esther Short Park, Leverich Park, Marshall Community Park, Fisher Basin Community Park, Shumway Park, LeRoy Haagen Memorial Community Park, Evergreen Park, Marine Community Park, David Douglas Community Park and Arnada Park.

Facilities at Esther Short Park may occasionally be open during evening hours in the winter for permitted special events and programs. For a listing of parks and hours of operation, visit www.vanparksrec.org.
