A fire Thursday afternoon damaged a home in Vancouver’s Ogden neighborhood.
No one was home when the fire broke out about 1:40 p.m. at 2705 N.E. 83rd Ave. Vancouver firefighters arrived to find a fire in the living room, according to emergency radio traffic monitored at The Columbian.
The fire was extinguished in less than 20 minutes but caused significant damage to the ranch-style home, which was built in 1969, according to emergency radio traffic and county property records.
Firefighters were able to contact the residents by phone, who reported that two Chihuahua dogs were in the home. There was no immediate word on the fate of the pets.
