Washougal — Washougal High School student Hannah Raynor’s senior project saw her help out some younger students. For part of her project, she collected 34 pairs of shoes and socks for Hathaway Elementary School. Raynor also got some help from her employer, K&M Drive-In in Camas, which donated 15 percent of sales one day toward her project, giving her $550. Payless Shoes gave her a coupon to help stretch her money a bit further. She worked with Hathaway staff to determine a few students who would benefit immediately from her project and personalized several boxes of shoes with a ribbon and name tag and distributed them to specific students. The remainder of the shoes and socks will go to the Hathaway Clothes Closet, which offers families in the district a place to pick up free clothes and clothing care.
