Two Ridgefield students top Southwest Washington art competition

Ridgefield — Rep. Jaime Herrera Beutler, R-Battle Ground, announced the winners of Southwest Washington’s Congressional Art Competition. “Paia” by Megan Sheets of Cedar Tree Classical Christian School took home first place, followed by “Gentle Giants” by Ysabel Morales of Cedar Tree and “The Red Portal” by Luis Gurrola Villarreal of Kelso High School. The first-place winner, Sheets, was invited to Washington, D.C., in June to see her artwork hanging in the U.S. Capitol Building. Morales finished second in the competition in 2017, as well.
