Stevenson’s Krog wins state title in 1A boys high jump

Bulldogs place third in 1A boys

Lincoln Krog earned a state title in the high jump, helping Stevenson place third overall in the 1A boys team standings Saturday at the 1A-2B-1B state track and field meet in Cheney.

Krog won the high jump with a mark of 6 feet, 4 inches. Krog also placed eighth in the long jump (21-1) and Isaac Hoidal was third in 21-6. Teammate David McAndie had a runner-up finish in the 110-hurdles (15.69), and James McAndie placed eighth in the 300 hurdles (43.29).

That all helped the Bulldogs finish with 48 points, just behind runner-up Lakeside with 50. King’s of Seattle won the team title with 58.

King’s Way Christian’s Aurora Chaney finished fourth in the 1A girls 100 (13.27) and seventh in the 200 (27.05). Teammate Lacey Zook was fifth in the discus (111-2).

Washington School for the Deaf’s Cristian Martinez-White placed eighth in the 1B boys 200 (24.56) and 400 (53.97).
