Esther Short — The Southwest Washington School Retirees Organization donated $500 to the Homestead shelter, which is part of Share. The organization donated to Cassie Sorensen’s literacy room project, which is in the planning and fundraising stages right now. Sorensen said the idea is to create a library in the children’s playroom, which kids can use for leisure and homework. She also wants it to be cozy, with space for parents to go read with their children. Anyone interested in helping out with the literacy room project can call Share at 360-448-2121. The Southwest Washington School Retirees Organization is open to anyone who worked in schools.
