PORTLAND — Duluth Trading Company, a retailer selling casual workwear and accessories, has opened its first Oregon store at Jantzen Beach.
The 19,000-square-foot store Portland store formerly housed an Office Depot. It’s Duluth’s 37th store nationwide.
Duluth, recognizable for its quirky TV commercials, said it chose Portland because it generates a high volume of catalog and online sales from the region.
Founded in Duluth, Minn., the retailer’s headquarters are now in Wisconsin.
Duluth reported sales of $471.4 million last year, up from $376 million the previous year, as its number of stores nearly doubled from 16 to 31.
Duluth reported profits of $23.4 million for its last fiscal year, up from $21.3 million the previous year.
